How do I donate property?
We have simplified the real estate contribution procedure to make it as easy for our contributors as possible. After you submit your information, a member of our staff will contact you to learn more about your property.
Cars For Kids USA will do a property inspection, which will include a title, tax, and lien check as well as an assessment of environmental hazards.
Upon approval, Cars for Kids USA will handle all of the donation’s administrative and technical components, such as deed transfer and closure. Shortly after closing, you will receive a receipt and an IRS form for your deduction.
How does Cars For Kids USA determine the approval of a real estate donation?
At Cars For Kids USA, our team of professionals reviews every offer of real estate we receive to guarantee that the charity benefits from the contribution. We consider a range of aspects to maximize the potential of each property gift.
How long does the process to donate take?
If all paperwork is in order and the title is free of errors, the procedure usually takes between 3-6 weeks. For time-sensitive situations, Cars For Kids USA can speed the procedure.
How do I establish the fair market value of my property?
As a general rule, you may claim the fair market value of the donated property. For further information, consult with your tax advisor.
When can I claim my tax deduction?
You can take a tax deduction in the year that the property is donated. Depending on your tax circumstances, you may be eligible to claim the deduction for up to five years.*
How much can I claim for a tax deduction?
A certified third-party appraiser will assess the fair market value of your property.

Can I donate my home to charity if it requires repairs?
Yes, you may still give your house even if it isn’t in great shape.
Can I donate property to charity with a lien or past-due taxes?
Each property must be examined independently; please complete the gift form and we will get back to you.
Do you accept environmentally polluted property?
It depends. Cars For Kids USA will assess the site and determine whether the environmental concern can be resolved.
Are there any properties you won’t accept?
We currently do not accept timeshares or properties that are “under water.”
