The timeline for donating an aircraft can vary depending on factors such as its location, condition, and market demand. Typically, we aim to complete the donation process within a few weeks, from initial contact to finalizing the sale and issuing tax deductible receipts.
The amount you can claim for tax deductions for donating your plane depends on its fair market value and the final sale price. If your plane sells for less than $500, you can claim the fair market value, up to $500. For sales exceeding $500, you can claim the actual sale amount.
You can claim your tax deduction in the same year that your plane is sold. Once the sale is finalized and the proceeds are disbursed to the charity, we’ll provide you with the necessary tax deductible receipts reflecting the amount eligible for deduction.
